Che Fico

PERFECTING SIMPLICITY SINCE 2018

Che Fico is an Italian Taverna in San Francisco’s Nopa neighborhood. It’s a place to gather with friends and enjoy warm hospitality, food, and drink, through an approachable menu and convivial ambiance.

The food focuses on Italian cuisine through the lens of California. It’s our vision of Northern California as if it is a region in Italy, our connection to the region, and our love for Italian culinary practices. The rustic, market-driven menu features handmade pasta, pizzas, antipasti, housemade salumi, meat, and fish plus dishes from the Jewish-Roman heritage known as “Cucina Ebraica.” The beverage program focuses heavily on both Italian and Californian wines with a cocktail program that utilizes a variety of spirits, amaros, and seasonal ingredients.

The restaurant itself inhabits a building with over 100 years of history in San Francisco and was originally built as a stable after the great fire in 1906 and before our takeover of the space, an auto body shop.  A complete overhaul of the building was necessary to bring it up to date. The space was further brought to life by the vibrant interior design of Jon de la Cruz and his firm DLC-ID and has since garnered multiple awards.

  • In an effort to improve our transparency and success as a small business in the Bay Area, we have made some changes to our business model. One change is a 5% dine in charge. This is representative of the true cost of dining in our space. It helps us pay a living wage to all of our employees, provide professional benefits, as well as use the best local products. It helps us run a profitable and sustainable business, one that we hope can be there to feed our community for years to come. Please note this is not a gratuity. All gratuity is distributed to our entire team and greatly appreciated. Thank you for dining with us and supporting the ideals and integrity that we all share.

You are welcome to send a donation request to contact@chefico.com and a team member will be sure to reach out should we be able to contribute!
